About two months ago, we covered and reviewed the illuminating single “I Want to Know (Are You the One)” by the multitalented Italian recording artist Gianluca Zanna. We lauded its upbeat dance vibe and aural energy driven by a legion of luminous sonics and instrumentation. The track also peaked our music senses because the soundscape brings on a touch of nostalgia as it takes you back in time to the sound of the new wave pop tracks that dominated the 80’s.
“I Want to Know (Are You the One)” has clearly resonated with the masses of music listeners and media platforms as it has already garnered significant radio airplay around the world. Below is an expansive list of radio stations that have already placed this electrifying track in their airplay rotations not long after its release…such a diverse range of outlets across several countries AND continents. Being the consummate creator, progressive producer and songwriter that he is, Gianluca has not rested on the laurels of the track’s flurry of success and has dressed up the original song with a bona fide club remix in collaboration with acclaimed producer and sound engineer Brian Reeves who added the finishing touches on the remix. Gianluca also linked up remotely with DJ Pao from Greece who contributed his remix magic on the arrangement; and there you have it…the “I Want to Know (Brian Reeves Club Remix)” was born into reality.
As the real-life inspiration behind the original version came to him in a dream inspired by a woman from his past, Gianluca’s idea to cook up a sparkling new remix dawned on him as he drove through the streets of Las Vegas at night. “I Want to Know (Brian Reeves Club Remix)” carries the intrinsic kinetic vibe of the original song in addition to the dazzling female vocals and alluring ambience that maneuvers through the roller coaster of emotions that are experienced in the course of a romantic relationship. However, the club remix accentuates the danceability of the track as its core sound is shifted more towards the EDM space with a strong leaning toward house music as a pulsating bassline and phrase lead the charge of the composition. The low-end tones careen across the field of sound and are complemented extremely well with a bevy of synth laden melodies in the background driving the musicality of the song. While the grandiose production of the remix can resonate in any setting, you can easily visualize this song blasting throughout your local nightclub amongst dance crazed patrons or blaring over the speakers at a jam-packed EDM festival…

More About Gianluca Zanna
Gianluca Zanna’s own musical journey began in Italy, where he was born in Rome. After what was in many respects an idyllic early childhood near the sea, listening to his grandfather’s serenades, soaking in the cinematic epic musical scores and fantasy in his family’s movie theatre, he went to a much more sterile and even harsh environment–boarding school. From the young age of 10, he grew up in the Italian National Boarding School “Convitto Nazionale,” and then through the elite Military Academy Nunziatella, the oldest Military School in the world. During his Convitto Nazionale boarding school experience, Gianluca discovered the magic of music–he could fly away to another universe. From that point on, instead of playing soccer, he wrote songs–both lyrics and melody. He serendipitously found some old instruments in the attic of the school, and using them, he taught himself how to play a bit of guitar, bass and drum. At that same time, as a young teenager, Gianluca studied Ancient Latin and Ancient Greek, where he discovered a love for the great Italian poets of the classical past, like Ovid, Catullus, and Petrarch, leading to Dante and then D’Annunzio; he admired their ability to transmit feelings and pictures in a few brief phrases as a way to fight for what they believed in whether it be love, freedom, or another of their humanist values. Every spare moment, inspired, he found happiness writing his own poetry in a special little notebook, filling it with what became lyrics to his songs.
When Luca grew up in Italy in boarding schools and he was dreaming to become a songwriter and emigrate to America, he was listening to the work of Brian Reeves, a world-famous record producer and sound engineer among his credits Donna Summer, Giorgio Moroder, Billy Idol, U2, Simple Minds. Today Brian Reeves has mixed some of his latest songs like “I Want to Know”, “Storm”, “I AM” and “The Other Side of my Heart Remix”
